Analysis of Ukrainian paper-and-pulp industry

In 2008 company ITТ-consult conducted the analysis of Ukrainian paper-and-pulp industry market.

Ukrainian paper-and-pulp industry market includes such main points.

- Research of peculiarities, tendencies and paper-and-pulp industry development dynamics in Ukraine was conducted. Indexes of export-import pattern of products of the branch were examined as well as the volume of given indexes was predicted for the future period. Geographical structure and level of concentration of enterprises of paper-and-pulp industry across the regions were studied.

- Based on the analysis of indexes of volume of investments to paper-and-pulp industry on the modern stage the amount of financing of the branch in the near future is predicted, which has straightforward influence on technical, technological equipment, level of effectiveness and productivity of manufacturing capacities of the enterprises of the branch.

- All building blocks of business environment of enterprises of paper-and-pulp industry: political and juridical, economical, socio-cultural and infrastructural (using SWAT analysis and other effective techniques) were studied and analyzed. On the basis of the findings the positive and negative factors of influence on the further development of the actual business were defined.

- Peculiarities, strategies, manufacturing capacity and results of activities of Ukrainian market leaders such as Kyiv KPK, Rubizhansk KTK, Zhudachivsk CPK, Izmail CKK (based on operating rate of their activity during last 2 years) were studied in details. On the basis of the information about investment projects in the industry the plans of the main participants of the market were defined.

- Analysis of manufacturing capacity of Ukrainian factories of paper-and-pulp industry on the basis of research and comparison of indexes of effectiveness and productive efficiency of Ukrainian enterprises and enterprises of other countries were conducted. Special attention was paid to estimation of peculiarities and possibility of implementation of innovative, effective, saving and ecologically save technologies and technological lines into production process.

- Detailed overview and comparative analysis of commodity pattern, assortment, quantitative and qualitativeindicators of the production (paperboard and paperboard products, scrap paper and cellulose base and sanitary paper, semimanufactured products) of foreign and domestic enterprises of the branch were made. Research and prognostics of national economy needs, demand indexes for production of paper-and-pulp industry in the range of domestic Ukrainian market and outside of it were conducted.

- Valuation of condition of resource base and raw material was given: presence, level of market intension, level of prices, and nearness to the raw material concentration centers.

- Problems and perspectives of the Ukrainian paper-and-pulp industry were clearly defined and represented.

Of the fact as paper-and-pulp industry products are in demand among the Ukrainian population, as well as abroad, there are all bases for further development of the market of this industry, which also in its tern makes investments into this sector profitable.
