Ukrainian metal constructions market review

In 2006 ITT-consult conducted marketing research of Ukrainian metal constructions market for Polimex-Mostostal Siedlce S.A.

The research provides:
- the review of the economic situation concerning the trends of 2000-2005 according to the main macro-economic indicators by the State Committee of Ukraine for Statistics data, and economic development forecast in general and in the context of its branches – metallurgy, in particular - for 2006-2007 according to the experts’ data and forecast of the Institute for Economic Research;
- legal overview, that shows the features of the legal base of Ukraine, required for the customer to get acquainted with the benefits and guarantees he obtains being a foreign investor, with taxation environment, mutual agreements and international liabilities, problems and advantages of legislation of the host country in general;
- labour market review, that includes statistics of the average salary indicators in different regions of Ukraine and also in different industries, graphical analysis of unemployment rate in comparison with the European countries;
- analysis of local metal constructions market of Ukraine concerning the key questions and trends of 2000-2005 (production rate, export, import indicators of the industry), post-soviet problems of lost potential analysis, market structure, industry overview by the nomenclature of goods, the characteristics of major producers and their production capacity.

Having conducted the research we can conclude that in spite of some existing problems of metallurgical industry, still it remains one of the major and perspective branches of Ukraine. Local market for metal construction will grow significantly in the next three years, while exports and imports will show moderate dynamics. As per experts’ opinion, metal constructions for industrial enterprises, light metal constructions, bridge constructions and production of reservoir/tanks are the most promising branches of metal construction industry.
